Cupcakes

Today was Cupcake Day!
I had been telling everyone I was going to the Cupcake Queen to learn about cupcake decorating.  It was fantastic and I had the best time with a great group of girls and not one failure tantrum, we all produced beautiful cupcakes!

I wish I snapped more photos of the all the girls and Sharnel at the event. It was not until I arrived home and my cuppies started being taste-tested devoured that I felt like crying because they were gone and I hadn't documented enough of it.

It was a very interesting, informing and inspiring session. Sharnel is the walking encyclopaedia on all things ‘cake decorating’ and you have her at your disposal for at least two and a half hours to ask questions, get advice and listen to all her ideas and inspirations. If you ask really nicely, she may even share her recipe for home made Vanilla Extract... YUM.

This is what I created today at The Cupcake Company

The Finished Box of Cupcakes
Little Easter Nest & Butterfly Rose
How typical - The best ruffle I produced was in the bowl!

  2. Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog today, and for adding me to your blog roll. You already have done one thing in life that I have yet to do... meet Sharnel and see her house! I met Sharnel through Flickr and we have become friends via the internet. We have even shipped a few gifts back and forth. I WILL someday meet her (and see that gorgeous kitchen), but since I'm in California and don't own a private jet, it may be several years before I get to fly for a visit. Maybe someday I'll get to sit in on one of her cupcake classes! Sure looks like you ladies had a fun day!
(Which lovely lady in the photo is you?)
